Willemijn van de Klundert
Junior Network
Willemijn completed her Masters of Architecture (MArch RIBA Part II) at Westminster University in London in 2014. During her Architecture studies she developed a special interest in post-war housing estates. Her dissertation ‘Bijlmermeer Regenerated; Modifications of public and semi-public Areas. What can we learn?’ investigates the changes that were made during the 20 years of the Bijlmermeer Regeneration Project and assesses the success of these changes. The importance of understanding the design mistakes of the past is crucial for regeneration projects, new housing design and the urban planning of the future.
She has collaborated as a junior member since March 2013 and is co-writer of the article ‘High-rise in trouble – The Bijlmermeer in Amsterdam’.
